Pros include getting great hook ups around the town with other tours. Sometimes, the tips could be good if you gave a great tour.
Cons
Well where do I start? So, I was told about this job through someone who I thought was my friend but was really only looking to get her $200 referral bonus from me getting the job. Anyways, training was fun and honestly a good time and we got paid about $9 an hour for training. When the season actually started we only got paid $11 an hour to drive huge tour buses with sometimes 50 passengers. I hope everyone knows how unbelievably low that is for Alaska and how expensive Alaska is. Anyways, for a summer we would average around 50 to 60 hours a week. There would be a point in the season when I would go 18 days without a day off. I gained 15 pounds this summer, I was sleep deprived and the best part of it all was that management could care less. Previous workers for this company and management were extremely biased to second year drivers and a particular religious group that worked for this company. This company needs a union. I was extremely unhealthy working for this company and they have a high turn over rate because they know they can just go recruit some college kids from BYU that would be glad to work the next summer. We did get good discounts on yours around the city so that was a major plus, only if you could ever get a day off. There are a plethora of driving jobs in Alaska that make over 20 an hour. If I would have known that I would have ditched this company a long time ago. I wouldn't work for this company again unless I was truly desperate. Just be aware...
