Lots of hands on at sea experience. Decent pay, even when not at sea.

On call 24/7, sometimes at very short notice

-amazing field experience -travel -meet a wide variety of people -can take substantial time off between contracts -create a professional network of biologists and people in the fishing industry

-management is disorganized, rude, and unprofessional -pay is low for actual hours worked -communication from management is unprofessional and last minute -benefits are better than none, but not great -no opportunities for growth
