      Pros

      My co-workers were great and helped keep the atmosphere light. You will meet an interesting array of patrons if you're a people person. You will be exposed to the free programs and resources the library offers to the public that you can benefit from, too.

      Cons

      Must be prepared to navigate difficult personalities and people with mental illness. The pay might not excite you if you're outside of Admin roles.

      Not much room to move up, unless of course you have your MLS

      Pros

      It's great working with the public and running programs especially with kids. You really get to turn your personal passions into lessons and clubs while being compensated for your experience. It's a great job for anyone who is multi disciplinary and wants to give back to the community.

      Cons

      The job can be a bit over whelming at times based on patron behavior or if you lack the ability to create and enforce boundaries.
