Pros

The only advantage is that you get to meet students from around the world.

Cons

- They tell you you'll work for 4 hours and you get 10 min break after each 30-min-session. But that's the first lie you get because you have to send a summary of the session to students during that "10 min break". - Students can book you at the last minute. So even if you checked your schedule 15 min before a session that a student canceled, you still have to wait to get another booking which leaves no time for you to prepare for your next session - Sessions are monitored and they don't tell you about it before hands. - They'll ask you to change your name to a rather more "westernized" one to put on your profile. - When students leave you feedback after a session, they don't publish them on your profile, whether it's good feedback or bad. - There are some lessons that are not clear even for the students and when you seek help to get them to explain them to you, they take too much time as if they didn't prepare them themselves. One time they told me you don't have to prepare your lessons before the session it's "unnecessary". - The salary is very low (200 EUR per month for 24h/week) and you don't get a raise only after a year.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We strive for transparency, and all points you mentioned, including session breaks, last-minute bookings, and performance monitoring, are covered during the training period to ensure clarity from the start. Regarding the session summaries, it’s based on individual speed and time management. We also prefer trainers to use pseudonyms for privacy and safety. Feedback, both positive and negative, is always shared on timely basis with the team to encourage growth. As for salary raises, they are based on performance evaluations and contributions, with a raise provided after one year, which is standard practice across the organization.

Pros

The only silver lining of this place is one the students are absent so you get to rest a little.

Cons

One of the most common concerns among employees is the low salary. The company keeps responding that it's "within industry standards" and "agreed upon," but what they don’t mention is that when you start, they only highlight their cheaper subscription plans. In reality, more than half of the clients pay for premium plans, yet this is never reflected in teacher salaries. Additionally, despite a contractual promise of a yearly salary review, this does not happen. Beyond pay, the structure for student progress is nonexistent, leaving teachers to manage everything on their own. This makes the job far more demanding than it should be, especially considering how little students pay relative to their high expectations and treatment of teachers. The platform asks teachers to treat students with exceptional care, but when students are rude, provocative, or downright disrespectful, there is little to no support. The salary is simply too low for teachers to tolerate such behavior in silence. It’s disappointing that some accept these conditions. The lesson materials are another major issue. They are created by individuals with no teaching qualifications—many come from finance or media backgrounds with no knowledge of pedagogy. As a result, the lessons are poorly structured, ineffective, and make teaching much harder than it should be. Lastly, there is a shocking pay disparity among teachers based on nationality. Some nationalities receive fewer lessons but are paid more, even when others (who are paid less) have clearer accents and are preferred by students. This unfairness is frustrating and discouraging for those who put in the effort and deliver quality lessons. Oh and one last thing! The low salary is always late because the company's financial transactions are shady .

We take feedback seriously, but it is important to clarify misinformation and present an accurate picture of our working environment. At Albert Learning, we uphold transparency and fairness in our salary structure, which aligns with industry standards and is agreed upon before employment. Claims of misleading pay practices are inaccurate, as compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and market conditions, and not nationality. Additionally, salary transactions are processed directly from the official source, ensuring full transparency and compliance with financial regulations. Salary reviews are conducted annually based on both conduct and performance within the organization. If an individual does not meet the required standards, they become ineligible for the appraisal. We have clear policies regarding student behaviour, and disrespectful conduct is not tolerated—teachers are encouraged to report issues for appropriate action. Furthermore, a thorough review and investigation are conducted in cases of student misconduct to ensure appropriate action is taken. Our lesson materials are designed with input from experienced educators to ensure quality and effectiveness, providing students with a structured and systematic learning plan. Everything is carefully organized, leaving nothing solely to the teacher’s discretion. We value our teachers and continuously strive to provide a professional and supportive work environment.
