Pros

There some good people working in the northwest depo

Cons

I used to enjoy working here because it genuinely felt like a close-knit depot where everyone worked together and supported each other. Unfortunately, that family atmosphere has disappeared. One individual has created a toxic working environment through bullying and intimidation of both male and female colleagues. Personal issues have regularly been brought into the workplace, creating division among staff and damaging morale. Multiple employees raised concerns, and management carried out an investigation. Despite many people speaking up about what they had experienced, no meaningful action appeared to be taken. This has left many employees feeling unheard, unsupported, and disappointed. It's a real shame because the company has good people.I hope management takes workplace culture and employee wellbeing more seriously in the future.

Pros

Colleagues at team level, particularly within service centre teams, are often supportive, collaborative, and committed to delivering high standards despite challenging circumstances.

Cons

There has been an ongoing pattern of poor treatment of employees across multiple levels of the organisation, particularly over the past few months. Staff are frequently made to feel undervalued and, at times, openly criticised in group settings, creating an uncomfortable and discouraging working environment. There is also a growing perception that certain individuals are being favoured or brought into the organisation through prior connections, while existing employees are not given the same level of support or opportunity. In parallel, some employees appear to be managed out of the business rather than developed, raising concerns around fairness and transparency. Additionally, there have been instances where role expectations have shifted with limited notice or consideration for existing employees, contributing to uncertainty and added pressure. There appears to be inconsistency in leadership approach, with a strong focus on upward stakeholder management, while engagement and support at other levels of the organisation are less evident. This contributes to a culture where employees do not feel equally valued or respected. Combined with consistently high workloads and limited recognition, this has led to a significant decline in morale. The resulting level of staff turnover, including the departure of experienced and capable employees, reflects deeper cultural and leadership issues rather than isolated cases. Prospective employees may want to consider the current environment before accepting a role with Algeco.
