Pros
The front desk staff always demonstrated amazing first impressions and amazing last impressions for the guest. Working for them was so inspiring. The front desk managing staff hired such amazing people to work with and they all shared that positive mindset of “service before self”. Although Reyn(Director of rooms) was the only one from Hawaii(that I recall), every single individual on the staff demonstrated the true meaning of “the spirit of Aloha” by treating each other, as well as its guests, with the utmost respect. Whether it’s walking down the hall or just waiting for your interview, you could always expect a warm and welcome greeting coming your way. When I had first got to the Allison Inn and Spa for my first interview, I was greeted/welcomed by Taylor(one of the FD managers). He had opened my car door for me asking for my last name and said “we’ve been expecting you” in such a warm and welcoming tone. I was so freaked out and I was thinking to myself “ wow, I feel so important, they even told the valet that I was coming in for an interview today” without even realizing that he was one of the managers that I’d be interviewing with. My point being, each individual on the staff went the extra mile to help one another. Within my time at the Allison, they easily became my family away from home (and I’m from Oahu so that’s very hard to do). I was always so happy to be scheduled for work and I’d even be happy to wake up at 4am for my 6am shift (and that’s hard to do because I was always on Hawaii time). Being part of the Allison Inn & Spa family has allowed me to develop untapped personal skills and talents by putting me in Those uncomfortable situations such as: sitting face to face with one of the managers and treating the conversation as if you were answering a reservation call during training(it was so hard not to break character and laugh). Flo and Erin (Two other FD managers) were always so patient with me and always gave input on what went well & what I needed to work on and it was always said in such a positive light. Each Front Desk manager would never ask anyone on the front desk staff to do anything that they as managers would never do. They’ve set such an incredible example because there’s absolutely NOTHING they wouldn’t do for the team or for the guests so therefore, the front desk staff, Bell and valet were held to the highest standards and always went the extra mile since that’s what we were so used to seeing the managers demonstrate. The Allison Inn and spa built a firm foundation through Pierre, Daniel, Kim, Reyn and all its amazing staff at the Allison. I’ve gained additional life experience, enhanced my personal and professional skills and continued to grow every day at work. It broke my heart not being able to continue working with such incredible people. Reyn has been incredible. He did whatever he could & got in touch with a lot of his resources to get me an interview for a job back home. He continued to communicate with me during the process and always offered help if i had any questions. Once you’re a part of the Allison Inn and Spa family, you’re always treated as part of the family which makes me miss working there even more than I already do. I love and miss everyone there!!
