Depending on the department, the engineering projects can be very interesting. Individuals are also given a lots of freedom do things their way.
Cons
Unfortunately the management is not skilled to handle their position well. Lack of structure and communication across company makes this venture very inefficient and might make feel individuals with ambitions to go somewhere where they get appreciated by the work the do.
