Pros

You can create your own schedule

Cons

I guarantee that the positive reviews are from higher ups after realizing their getting such a bad rep based on how they treat their employees...do not trust it. First off this is not a "styling" job because you're instructed to copy other stylists looks just so you can get a Lookbook sent to the client quickly. And most of the time clients don't ever respond to you or get back to you (work wasted). You're only expected to work on a clients looks for an hour and that's not nearly enough time to put together proper outfits and get to know your customer in a professional way. You are paid $15 an hour and that's even if you have years of experience. You're an independent contractor so tax season is a pain. They can terminate your contract whenever they feel like it and since the company isn't doing well, that's a lot of people out of a job lately. The tech issues are constant so even when you are working, expect major delays. This is just all around a waste of time and I assure you can find somewhere else that allows you to have a flexible schedule. If you're wanting to grow in a company, be creative, or have a life outside of work then this is NOT the job for you. If you want to be stressed, rushed, and struggling then go ahead and apply!

Pros

1. Make own hours 2. Work from home

Cons

WOW, I'm not sure where to begin. I worked at Allume for about a year and a half, it was truly one of the most unorganized places I've ever worked. Yes, it is a start-up and some issues are expected. The styling, itself, was very fun, and I do recommend styling to anyone who is interested. I would just go with a different company. The cons are they have very high expectations of you, and are constantly changing things that could affect your metrics. They don't care if the reason your clients are leaving is because of something they did. They will "uncontract" you. Not to mention, the application we use to style people, "ANNA" is so slow, and constantly has issues, and we are accountable for "ANNA" breaking down. Third, our engineers/HQ that we are suppose to submit problems, take days to respond, making our customers upset that we don't have an answer or are taking a long time to respond. I've had four ASM's since working here, and the cycle through people very quickly. They don't value employees. They don't communicate well. They don't care about their customers, putting them first-is the last thing on their agenda. Also, they laid off a ton of stylists, most of them were blindsided considering, we have no idea so many people were being let go. They gave very little information, and failed to answer a lot of questions. It is a VERY shady situation for everyone involved. Overall, just don't waste your time working here.
