Pros

They give you a decent severance if you get laid off. The pay, for people at my level, is extremely good for a non profit. The relaxed dress code is a nice perk. Flex time for most people is another great perk.

Cons

All groups except mine had flex time. Job security is minimal: the first thing they do when times are tough is to lay off people and cut costs drastically. This makes it hard to do your job effectively. The one thing thing they do not do is cut the executive level pay. For some reason it keeps going up, even as the company revenue has been dropping pretty drastically the past few years.

Pros

Engaged, motivated new leadership team with market-relevant and tech-forward skills Highly knowledgeable program staff and subject matter experts in public health domains Friendly, easy to work with people who collaborate effectively Nonprofit mission dedicated to measurable impact on improving people's lives

Cons

Like all organizations in the public health space, Altarum has faced a more limited amount of work available lately for a growing number of organizations to pursue, so this requires operating in a challenging business environment at times
