Cons
When I started at Altisource, I immediately noticed significant signs of mismanagement. There were only three women on my team. HR confirmed that 13-17 employees had left within the first few weeks of employment since January. My trainer behaved unprofessionally, pressuring me to be on camera at all times, a demand not made of male trainees. He even made a sexist remark about my ability to understand the training. Two women reported his inappropriate behavior, but HR retaliated by discouraging any communication between female team members outside of work. The base pay is below market rate at $14.85 per hour, with commission bonuses delayed until the end of the following month. This pay structure is unsustainable for most. There were also signs of cost-cutting, such as relocating headquarters to Belgium for tax reasons and using Uruguay-based legal counsel for American business practices. Additionally, the proprietary software was buggy, and my manager misreported my timecards to underpay me. I didn't have access to the punch-in system for several weeks. I would strongly advise against working at this company.
