Pros

Nice office space All consultants are friendly and easy to get on with Drinks and early finish on a Friday

Cons

Toxic leadership - there is a clear hostility from the two directors towards employees, often rude and unprofessional in both their words and actions. There is a clear lack of trust and respect towards staff, people are often banned from their "Wfh policy" over the most ridiculous things. The main thing I took away from my time at Amicus is the passive aggression from the directors, 'treading on eggshells' is a phrase that comes to mind most days you're in the office. There have been countless examples of people being shouted at over the desk and it's both disrespectful and demoralising. They claim to offer flexibility to all employees but it's simply not true. There are constant work from home bans and holiday request restrictions. The atmosphere within the office was hostile. People are afraid to talk back as you're likely to be disciplined, as a result people are forced to accept being spoken to and treated poorly. The lack of progression is clear to see. Despite some employees being there for over 5 years, none have progressed past Principal level. For the most part, this is not a place to grow your career and be rewarded for your hard work.

Thank you for your review and advice. Honesty is a core value at Amicus, so I believe it’s helpful to be transparent here on our WFH and flexibility policies. Whilst we offer flexibility and WFH options for self-motivated, self-disciplined, and self-accountable consultants, if a consultant is behind target and requires additional support/training to improve their performance, we’d like to be as close to that person as possible to get them back on track. That generally requires them returning to the office more regularly. However, this is only ever a temporary measure to improve performance and has never been permanent. Since hiring our first employee 5 years ago, we have multiple employees who’ve been with us for 2/3/4/5 years, some of which have received 4-5 promotions in that time. We're big believers in creating a meritocratic environment where titles and promotions are based on merit & not just tenure. Its regretful that your short time with Amicus was not a successful one, however we wish you the best of luck in the future.

Pros

Leaving for the day and having weekends off/time off

Cons

I wish I had read reviews before accepting a role at this company. It seemed like everything told by the internal recruiter was a scam. The work environment was unprofessional, especially at the leadership level. Don't bother reading the handbook, as they are constantly changing it, then making you believe policies were always implemented. One of the most concerning issues was the evident lack of respect toward women in the workplace. Disrespectful behavior and dismissive attitudes were far too common, and when raised, these concerns were either ignored or brushed off. It created a toxic environment that made it difficult to feel safe, supported, or valued. The office space has unbearable work conditions - there were animals brought in, disregarding the pet allergies of employees. Please protect your mental health and sanity.

Pros

Offices are pretty clean and tidy

Cons

Managers run hot and cold. There always having arguments in the meeting rooms making everyone uncomfortable. Seems like lots of people leave after they join so you don't really know who will go next and then when that happens nothing is said about it and you just kind of find out from someone after that which I thought was unusual cos in other companies theyd say something in an email at least. The days feel really long and in the US team they say that they give a 4 day week but then they make the shifts like 11 hours per day so you can only leave when it's really late and dark and then they email you on your days off or send text messages which is really stressful
