Pros
Enjoyed learning about new developments in the motor industry, especially relating to alternative fuel vehicles. I worked with a good group of colleagues.
Cons
My experience with the group has been on a gradual decline. Our site was always treated like an after thought. Then came the redundancy news. It was a quick in and out announcement and we were expected to carry on as normal immediately afterwards. There was no time given to take in the news. Over the course of the notice period there was no real follow up or communication from management outside of the one consultation meeting. We were all told to carry on and perform as normal towards our targets and given vague promises of commission payments for any deals completed during this time. We never were told what this might be, right up until the end. We were left to our own devices and gradually had less resources to do our jobs. Cars left the showroom and test drive vehicles removed from site. Yet we were still supposed to function. There were no further check ins from management. Duty of care was non existent at this point. The site was eventually closed early due to staff leaving ahead of the scheduled date. Then forced to open again with only one team member who lone worked for two weeks. Ancaster hadn’t actually bothered to tell Hyundai or Bluewater about the early closure. From start to finish the process was poor and unprofessional. It soured what was at the start a fantastic experience. I will miss my colleagues.
