Horrible place to work - Market Researcher AngstromAdvance Employee Review

Pros

The location is near blue hills reservation. Nothing else I can recall.

Cons

A company likes to take advantage of everything, from employers, partners, government project... Instead of thinking of how to improve company management or product. They wouldn't let you talk when you work, felt like in prison. They didn't pay me a penny as an Intern but asked me to work as an full-time employee. There was no benefit or compensation.

In our company history of so many years, we have ONLY warned one employee for talking too much of personal issues at work. This person used to be our office staff, and this person talked in the office to other employees all the time which interrupted other employees’ work. All of this person's talks are not related to the works. After we received a number of complaints about this issue, we had to warn this person not to interfere other employees any more. All our previous interns were professional and none of the interns would write such a review.

Pros

A lot of exciting projects during the internship period. The mentor was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Cons

Limited challenges for the internship to work on, may get more opportunities after I turn permanent employee

Pros

The pay is decent. Employees are allowed a good amount of independence to find new clients and build up new markets.

Cons

Overall, management has a complete lack of respect for the work/life balance of their employees. Even on the first day, I was informed that the hours in my contract were not what I would be working. I would be working extra hours on a daily basis, and I would receive no overtime pay despite being non-exempt (though they claim that making commission on sales by staying late is the same as overtime...) Office life is extremely secluded with little emphasis on teamwork. I could go on, but this is no place to rant. I should have seen this was a bad idea during the interview process, so I'm posting here to let others know beforehand.
