Pros

Being a software development company, development cycles can be tough, but everyone takes responsibility, everyone helps everyone else, they care about each other, and care about the end results. Lots of potential for growth as an employee. There is movement across divisions, so someone from Support may move to Education, someone from Education may move to Implementation, etc.

Cons

Development cycles can be tough, so there can be a lot of pressure to perform and to meet deadlines.

Pros

Forward looking, potentially innovative company from the outside. Lots of access to customers and research. Strong upper management push for new tech initiatives. New CEO might help. He just started.

Cons

There is a hierarchy of UX designers with titles that separate them in skills and respect in the org. Sr. UX designer becomes an IC without process or ideation level contributions. This is not a healthy structure for Agile software design since ideation is not operating in a flat psychological safe environment. The product team holds disproportionate control over UX decisions, including managing UX staff directly. The UX org has 4 hierarchical tiers plus UX manager track, which creates significant bottlenecks. The VP leads workshops for some reason.
