Pros

If you care more about money than anything else, this is the place for you.

Cons

Aptive is not a pest control company. It is a sales company that chose to sell pest control as its product. They know little about pest control, but tons about sales and manipulation tactics. This company has a culture of money lovers that ride around in fancy cars and live in big houses and have lots of swag and cool stuff in order to recruit young guys to sell with them. In order to succeed at Aptive, you need to have a ton of confidence in yourself, which usually turns the employees (and managers) into arrogant, self obsessed, "sales bros." One example of many that shows the culture of this company involved the CEO himself, Vess Pearson. Our team was having somewhat of a rough week in sales, so he called us up to "motivate" us. His inspirational speech was about how his one goal as he was starting out in the business world was to became a millionaire at a young age. He said that he accomplished that through his hard work. My only thought was that I was listening to a guy that loved money and thought that he could achieve happiness with it and thought he could motivate others by him having it. Within getting into too many small details about everything that I disapproved of during my experience, I'll just say that Aptive doesn't share some of my same opinions about what is important or moral.

Pros

Stepped Training & Weekly Classes: Management is great about not overwhelming you. We learn new technology one step at a time, and we have weekly team classes to make sure everyone has the information "down pat" before moving on. Veteran Mentorship: This company truly values experience. They lean on veteran technicians to walk new employees through every step of the process so they aren't left alone on a route until they are 100% comfortable. Customer Loyalty: Our "Reduced Risk" approach (using botanical-based pyrethrins and EPA-approved treatments) is high-quality. I’ve seen that even when customers leave for other options, they almost always come running back once they realize the value of our service. Collaborative Bonus Culture: We have monthly bonuses, and we actually help each other hit them. In our meetings, if one tech finds a better way to hit a goal, they share it so the whole "family" can maximize their earnings. Strong Communication: You are never on an island. There is constant contact and support between co-workers, supervisors, and manageme

Cons

Adapting to Change: The industry moves fast and the technology is always evolving. It takes a professional mindset to stay on top of the weekly classes and new mobile systems. Physical Energy: This is a high-energy field role. It requires daily stamina and a strong work ethic to manage the routes effectively and keep up with the pace.
