It's like a cult... - Adidas Field Agent Archrival Employee Review

You’ll need to learn the lingo quickly, and keep that overly positive, unrealistic attitude up at all times, or you’ll never have a chance to advance. Sometimes I feel like I’m the only sane party when interacting with Archrival HQ. NEPOTISM is a huge issue within the company. Unless you make the program director your best friend, you simply will not be promoted. They’re willing to move their favorites across the country to fill roles even if there are overly qualified candidates locally. They’ll create new positions for those favorites in order to give them raises and more opportunities. No one at Archrival is interested in your career advancement. This is a dead end job, and they're just looking for bodies to fill positions. They want to keep you in the same entry-level position until they can fire you, or you decide to quit. Of the hundreds of people who’ve had this role, less than five have actually made it to adidas HQ. If you think this position will get you to adidas, think again, Archrival does not want you there. And just know that the positive reviews are being written by members of Archrival HQ. Count the number of times “awesome” is used both in those reviews, and on the company website. It’s their favorite word, and they love telling us agents how “awesome” we are, all the while keeping us in our same low-level position. This job isn’t going to teach you any valuable skills that will help you transition into your next career. You can jazz it up on your resume, but in reality, you work at Dick’s Sporting Goods. You’ll be overworked, and underappreciated, all the while being babysat by your Regional Manager. They get to work a typical Monday-Friday schedule, while you your working hard Wednesday-Sunday. Don’t expect any e-mails or phone calls to be answered while you’re working hard on the weekend, your managers are unavailable, so figure it out. You’ll also get to watch your superiors living it up at the corporate office, enjoying brunch and happy hour, while your stuck folding t-shirts in your stores. They’ll keep adding more responsibilities to your plate, while they enjoy the benefits of your hard work. Now I have our annual training camp to look forward to. A weeklong event, where they try to appease us by buying us alcohol and telling us again how “awesome” we are. The event is only fun for members of Archrival HQ, who pose for adidas as if they know what’s going on. If adidas is wise, they’ll ask for the feedback of us Field Agents directly, rather than going through Archrival. I’m sure that adidas will catch on soon, but hopefully I’ll have found a new position, far, far away from Archrival.
