Pros
A place to learn how container shipping and logistics work. Nothing else. When you leave the company, you feel like reborn and world's weight lifted off your shoulders.
Cons
Family company. Consider something like Catholic North Korea. Religion is Arkasianity, prophet is the father, saints are the chidren. Founder is current owner's father (by analogy Jesus + Kim Yong-il). If you are not a scholar of the saints, there are no career opportunities. If you are not brainwashed by the religion, there are no career opportunities. If you oppose management in any way, there are no career opportunities. If you are not in Izmir, you are a second-class employee. You are brainwashed every single moment: they always emphasise that your job description at Arkas is unique to the company and this does not correspond to any other job description in other companies. Arkas pays you on time, you get free lunch and transportation, and you should be grateful for it and worship the religion. What they advertise in social media is misleading: there are only lifetime careers for scholars, not for the average people. You can be fired at any time without any reason, by being threatened to go to court if you don't accept their layoff package. If you are a scholar, you can be the type of person that plays with your thing in your pants and you can be a manager. If you are a high-class employee and not a scholar, your career is dead. There is no HR. HR just works for the religion. They have no power, no say, accept introducing the right scholars to the saints to pump up their career. If you are one of the scholars, you can leave the company and come back in a better position. If you are not one of them, you are left alone to decay - either leave or fired.
