Insufficient pay, nepotism and poor leadership - Utility Technician Atmos Energy Employee Review

When I worked there going above and beyond was rewarded only with more work and occasional pay increases less than $1. I once received a 30c raise and was told it was the best in the department. Being proactive to prevent problems was met with scorn and chewing out by management. It's a cut throat work environment where advancement is actively discouraged. I was once told by a hiring manager that I "need to be content" doing menial work for at least 5 years.
