Pros
A-O has some of the best talent and individuals in the industry. The people make the whole experience valuable beyond measure. Long-term benefits are excellent if you're willing to do beyond 10 years, 20+ is ideal. Bonus structure is competitive when the industry isn't upside down as it has been for several years. This has negatively impacted total compensation and what associates are accustom to receiving in their total pay package. There are nearly limitless opportunities to try different career paths and develop your professional side. I do wish Michigan would expand talent considerations more broadly into regional teams. They are missing out on several gems and will continue to do so.
Cons
The A-O experience seems to vary greatly from region to region which is a shame. There's a ton of pressure on frontline leadership from all ends, more support from Home Office teams could be helpful. The company is huge on efficiency at the moment which is fine but you also have to balance that with quality, and the neverending list of other requirements stacked onto an already burning-out group. The teams are great but it's tough to support them when you don't have unwaivering support from home office. I guess the regions felt left behind often especially the ones that had bad markets.
