Pros
Coworkers are great, and most customers are nice to work with. Senior engineers can teach you a lot.
Cons
- Upper management tends to put bandaids on issues in the company, especially when related to IT. They are not willing to spend money where it will make work more efficient, and rather have countless hours wasted and repeated; this unfairly bleeds into the customers pockets. - The pay is far below market value. Leaving with my skills, I went from 50k to over six figures. AG is a great learning experience, but I do not recommend staying. - The benefits are hardly that. It’s nearly the same as paying fully out of pocket. Reading the fine print for retirement, at least while I was there, shows that they match only match a fraction of what you put in, and they will not even start contributing unless you’re there for 6 years (most people aren’t) - There is a very high turnover rate. Promises are made and never kept. The PE training is nearly a lie, and there is no incentive for either an EIT or PE. - The list continues
