Pros

Very busy position... lots of things to do to gain experience to move on in career. Wonderful fellow employees! No onsite manager.

Cons

VERY Micromanaged and positions not clearly defined when hired. Told about patient care, scheduling, etc, but never telemarketing!!! Telemarket, telemarket, telemarket....sell...sell...sell...sell and have bonuses slighted on your paychecks or eliminated completely without prior notice. Never enough, always pushing for more. Patients are sold and left unattended after the sale because management wants all scheduled appointments to be for new sales...no services. Patient Care Coordinator is not the proper job title; it should say...janitor, cleaning service, reception, a/p, a/r, SALES, SALES, SALES, TELEMARKET, TELEMARKET...no go to people for problems other than your benefits and that office is out of state. Questions have to be answered by reading manual, but no time to read manual when all blocked scheduling is to be set aside for telemarketing, and BEGGING patients for names of people to call..not once...not twice...but every time you see them. RUN FOR THE HILLS...IF YOU LIKE TELEMARKETING THIS FRONT OFFICE POSITION IS FOR YOU, but don't forget that all sales orders and other misc papers pertaining to sales have to be entered by the end of the month..no exceptions!!! NO ROOM FOR GROWTH!!!!

Pros

-Coworkers are supportive, talented, and care about the patients -Customer Service is very available and helpful -Good for someone who has never had a sales role before because everything you should say and do is spelled out for you -Commission can add up for those meeting and exceeding budget goals

Cons

-Base salary was extremely low ($40,000) to motivate sales -Front office people are not paid enough so the quality of people hired for that position is questionable and if they are any good they will quit soon after hire. I worked with 5 different front office people in a year and a half. Without a good front office person you are basically screwed. -Pushed to work Saturdays without additional compensation -high pressure to sell put on the hearing instrument specialist. Micromanaged and questioned after ever tested no sale as to what you did wrong. -pricing of the hearing aids can't compete with neighboring private practices and big box stores -misleading marketing ruins patient's perception of the company -poor work life balance because there is too much to do each day. I ended up working an extra two hours over every day because of follow up calls and paperwork.
