Pros
Lots of opportunities for training and get certifications of junior developer. Almost first to start using new version of software in house eg. Windows, office, Outlook, Skype etc. Corporate HR in Canada are good ladies working in a bad place.
Cons
I worked for this company over 5 years and this company is going down fast. Specially the senior leadership in Toronto area don't really care about their people. They have tendency to do all talk and no action. Also there are like 15 guys above director level just for Canada region which has just over 200 full time employees. So you can imagine the level of politics which goes on at the top level. There are two to three main clients who are owned by accenture and are source almost 70 % of the Avanade's business and over 80% of people work there. There is no way that you can get to work on the technology or project you like. Doesn't matter how long you have waited by sucking up a crappy role, resource management people will put you wherever there is open role when you are on bench. If you ask the reason you will be pointed to the management. those people are quite unqualified for the job and are very rude. If you are just out of university this is a good place to start but please don't join if you are looking at a senior level i.e. Consultant and above. The project work and politics will kill your skills and innovation and I can bet you will end looking for a job again under a year.
