Pros
Great training available whether internal or external for many different technologies and soft skills. Great starting company for those who love travel and want to be client facing team members, or for those who prefer working local, there's also local options to mitigate the amount of travel. Many opportunities arise to take control of one's career and learn and use the latest technologies.
Cons
Sometimes the person mentoring oneself is not on the same project as oneself so they cannot see first hand their pupil's day to day work. This disconnect can sometimes be bad especially when the mentor is asked to vouch for their pupil.
