Pros

- People here like, trust, care about each other. - We get to advance the art and science of storytelling. - We help people, teams, and organizations grow. - Much of our technology is cutting edge (AI, NLP, deep insights). - We believe in the impact we are making, and want to make more of it. - Few people on the team are content with status quo. - "Building a rocketship while flying it" [often-used refrain here] - Growth mindset from C-suite to interns. - Listening, feedback, sharing of failures and successes from C-suite to interns. - Leadership is inspiring, transparent, openly seeking feedback to grow. - No blame culture. Self responsibility, even failure, is encouraged. - Fast moving and tons of real-time innovation. - Constant focus on creating great customer experience. - No team member, past or present, who I don't like and respect.

Cons

- It's a startup. Changes, learning, and growth are constant, and sometimes frustrating. I love this (it's a big part of why I'm here). But the environment would be hard on anyone who has perhaps seen easier successes in the past, and comes in with the expectation of similar ease here. - High expectations. It's not enough to be talented, or even a great person - although you won't get in the door without both being true here. Results matter. I expect and need this in a workplace, especially one in which I care about the vision. But it's not for people who don't want an intense focus on results. - Ownership, self-responsibility, and comfort with ambiguity are necessary strengths here. There is so much innovation and opportunity for growth, but it demands that we go after it. I love this, but I wouldn't recommend Avanoo for people who need someone else to provide structure and clarity, and who need their job description to remain the same for longer than six weeks. The ask here constant invention and reinvention.
