Pros

flexible hours and a variety of projects

Cons

They switched from a contractor model to employee model about a year ago, which resulted in a pay cut of about 1/3. Their pay-structure is unique- they pay a flat hourly rate with a piece rate on top of it. The hourly rate is about half of what you will make an hour- but you will only be paid that hourly rate for vacation and holidays- making it impossible to use vacation. Who can live on half a pay check? The piece rate has been cut on a few different projects I've been on- resulting in another pay cut. I'm hoping to find a company that values their employees more soon. The benefits are expensive and they only offer a high deductible plan.

Pros

As an HR manager, I directly impacted the company’s success by recruiting and retaining skilled medical coders, who were crucial to healthcare administration and revenue cycle management.

Cons

Medical coders often faced high workloads and long hours, leading to burnout. Managing HR for this type of workforce meant addressing employee stress, fatigue, and turnover, which could be challenging.
