Pros

Benefits Pay Unlimited PTO Truly Remote

Cons

When I first started working for Aya, it felt like a dream come true. Supportive leadership, great pay, and amazing benefits—it was everything I had hoped for. But over time, the situation changed. Let me share my experience. Initially, I was hired as a program coordinator. About a year later, they decided to merge program coordinators (PCs) with account coordinators (ACs). According to leadership, our roles were similar, but that couldn’t have been further from the truth. Once the merger happened and we all became Enterprise Coordinators (ECs), it became clear that they wanted us to focus solely on AC tasks. The promises made during the merger—like being “layoff-proof” and “recession-proof”—turned out to be empty words. Within months, massive layoffs began. They called these layoffs “voluntary,” but it was more like coercion. They’d offer a severance package, emphasizing that it was optional. However, if a layoff occurred, that package would no longer be available. It felt like they were twisting our arms to accept it. The reason given for the voluntary layoffs was oversaturation—the company had over-hired during the pandemic. Yet now, they’re outsourcing those same positions overseas. Despite claiming that we’re all “family,” they’ve put many former employees in a tough spot. Sure, they’ll respond with a generic message about offering a generous package and ensuring access to medical care during the transition. But the reality is that the job market is tough, and jobs are scarce. What happens when the severance runs out, and medical coverage disappears? They could have found a way to retain their employees instead of leaving them stranded. In the end, actions speak louder than words. Aya’s promises turned out to be just that—empty promises.

We appreciate your feedback. While Aya is constantly adapting to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients and clinicians, we remain committed to supporting our employees with every decision made, which is why we offered generous voluntary incentive packages to those whose positions had limited room for growth within the organization. Pros

I love working at Aya. I’m motivated to help staff hospitals across the country to bring healthcare to everyone. It’s not perfect, but people DO care about you. I have a rare perspective where I work across many teams including leadership, compliance and operations (as little old admin, bottom of the totem pole) and I have not witnessed the toxic workplace environment some people mention here. People are respectful and the subject of employee satisfaction is always top of mind. I’ve been at Aya for many seasons. Is it the same as COVID? No it’s not. but it was a pandemic and we’re a healthcare staffing company. You don’t want our business to boom like that again, it would mean tons of people are sick and hospitals aren’t staffed. Layoffs were awful and I miss my coworkers that were asked to leave. but the business changed after Covid and demand isn’t the same across the entire industry, not just at Aya Pros: Remote Positive work environment Unlimited PTO Fun events Beautiful office with free food Great coworkers DEI-forward with commitment to equality TLDR: layoffs suck but you don’t want infinite exponential growth in healthcare Expectations are high, but the environment is good and work-life balance is amazing

Cons

Pay is decent but not competitive with tech Growing pains

Pros

Good work life balance, personally my manager cares a lot. DTO is nice.

Cons

The outsourcing is getting out of hand. Not only is it not fair to the offshored employees (i’m positive they are not paid nearly as much as stateside employees for the same title.) It’s completely anti-american to offshore client and provider facing roles for a UNITED STATES based company. Our mission is to be serving STATESIDE. (Not applying our UK base.) They have now outsourced almost all Account Coordinators and now there are talks of them outsourcing some RA’s, which would be a nightmare for the client, provider and recruiter experience. Not only have they outsourced AC’s, they have outsourced other positions who don’t understand our stateside process from a first hand perspective and slow our efficiencies, when they were hired to be more efficient and ‘cost effective.’ It’s super disappointing to see as this company was once proud to be mostly U.S. based employed. Now we are about to be a company full of offshored employees, running a U.S. business. I know i’m not the only one who was once proud to work at this company. I wouldn’t be surprised if they start offshoring recruiters to save money.
