Pros
Flexible payments, used to provide a variety of translations, translations used to be made by humans (not anymore, going MTPE)
Cons
One Hour Translation used to be a great company. It relied for years on an initial set of translators who provided free work (reviews) in exchange for getting a priority access to projects. Some of use spent more than 1.000 hours doing those reviews. Then, a year ago, One Hour Translation decided to recaculate unilaterally those priority points, in a very obscure way. This recalculation was likely meant to benefit a new category of translators (aka Elite... people committing to translate only for OHT and provide at least 2.000 words a day. You get it, only novice translators can commit to that). As a consequence, veteran translators who spent hundreds, if not thousands, of hours reviewing were left with no work. The deal was: translators do unpaid reviews, counterpart is having priority access to translations. Translators complied with their part, One Hour Translations decided not to comply anymore with its part of the deal. It's likely that a class action will soon take place against OHT.
