Certain long-tenured employees can be overly bossy, resistant to change, and unwilling to consider different viewpoints. There is often an expectation that everyone must follow their way of working, regardless of whether alternative approaches may be more effective. Some individuals appear supportive, caring, and collaborative in front of management but behave very differently behind the scenes, including being dismissive of colleagues, engaging in gossip, and speaking negatively about others. This creates unnecessary workplace politics, discourages open communication, reduces trust within teams, and negatively impacts employee morale.

The choice of colleagues is sensitive to the cultural fit so I work well with most of my peers at work. I get satisfaction from how I can learn new things and also apply my creativity with autonomy.

It’s sometimes a challenge to balance the new ways of working given the heritage of the company. We can be more open minded in some areas.
