Pros

Blue Sentry has smart people and core values that truly prioritize learning and growth. Upper management I have a favorable opinion of and believe they are well intentioned. There is a lot of opportunity to grow in the organization and that's extremely apparent and well known within. There are clear and obtainable promotion paths.

Cons

There are a significant number of small, but additive issues in the broader organization. From leaders that behave with a baseline of negativity and cynicism (which clearly has impacts beyond their own immediate blast radius); to an unusual organization structure which is quite misaligned with widely accepted industry standards and practices. While upper management clearly has reasonable intentions, there were many conversational hints that there is a need for bodies; and some leaders make it known those people are readily disposable. I would not say any of these are cons which should immediately eliminate Blue Sentry as a potential future employer, however I would strongly suggest considering the above and asking thorough questions to ensure it's going to be a career fit for you, the candidate.

Pros

Working remotely is one of the pros

Cons

I worked at Blue Sentry Cloud for almost a year. Just a few weeks before completing the year, I was laid off during a short call, after which all of my system access was revoked immediately. While I understand layoffs can happen due to market conditions, what surprised me was that no severance pay was provided. I was told the company only provides severance to employees who complete a full year. This left me with the impression that timing was managed carefully to avoid that obligation. During my time there, I consistently worked with dedication. I did not take a real vacation, and during the holiday season, I stayed to ensure critical competition project was delivered on time before submission date, while others were away. I also invested time in mentoring other engineers on AI outside my normal working hours. I was told to log those hours toward my bonus, but in the end, that effort was not recognized. In summary, while I value the experience and the work I accomplished, I did not feel that employee contributions were genuinely appreciated. My advice to future candidates is to be cautious and pay attention to how the company approaches employee support and recognition. Almost a year of dedication, with many issues (some I won’t even mention here), no vacation, and eventually laid off with no bonus or severance.
