Pros
Backflip Studios encourages an open door policy at all levels. Despite the relationship with Hasbro, the company continues to operate with entrepreneurial sensibilities. Employees are trusted to get their jobs done, they are expected to crunch when needed and can enjoy a slower pace when not. Employees can create their own opportunities and star performers are valued and rewarded. The company sincerely wishes to share their success with all employees and looks for ways to do that. The benefit package is outstanding and despite past reviews, I have seen the company mature and become more open to change and structure and process. The people here are great, for the most part hard working, dedicated professionals who are more than willing to blow off steam with a nerf gun battle in the hallways.
Cons
Change is slow and it is a challenge for any company to grow from a dozen people to over a hundred. This really shows in communication from Leadership to employees but the Managers are working to address that and ensure a constant flow of information from the top down. It is a flat organization which can create the perception of no career advancement.
