Pros

They have completely ruined me. I'm not sure I will want to work anywhere else. So if I leave here I will either have to retire or start my own company. (I keep telling them I will need an 8 month notice / severance if they plan on changing my employment). There are three things I look for in any company I work for. 1- Culture, 2- Project, & 3- Salary. While I was going through the hiring process they mentioned something about work-life balance. I have never experienced that before. I thought it was a ploy to get me to come on board. My main three things were met, so I thought what the heck. Well it turns out the work-life balance is now at the top of my expanded list. BambooHR is a great place to work if you want to be spoiled: 1- Work-Life Balance: It's not a myth that is just spoken of, it's expected that you do your work and go home. 2- Culture: BambooHR only hires people that are a good fit. If you have the right attitude, you will fit. 3- Product: I have worked on many projects from the smallest to the largest companies and this product tops them all. 4-Salary: BambooHR takes care of their people. Your not just a number. They care.

Cons

Because BambooHR is still considered a "start-up" there are growing pains. Processes are still being defined. Mentalities are being shifted slowly. This makes for a little pain in the creation of process workflows. In addition, creating change doesn't happen as fast as it may in other companies. I guess this could be seen as a good thing. However, having been here for a while, it could go just a little faster without damage to the culture / product.

Pros

At the end of my tenure, I really have no pros.

Cons

I'm pretty sure I was "quietly laid off", in the effort of sneaky downsizing without having to actually do formal layoffs. This place was a godsend and a great place to work on my small independent team, and I did great. Then they did massive restructuring, added layers of hierarchy, added process, and basically just starting running a creative team like a line of factory workers. I had a horrible time with my manager on so many different levels, and felt validation when others would reflect the same, but I reflect what everyone else says - narcissistic, micro managing leadership that I now understand play manipulation games. I was put on a performance improvement plan and finally quit due to burnout, stress, and the dissolution of a role and a team that I had from before. They constantly push for solutions and deliverables, but I never really saw anything I delivered actually get treated and implemented with respect. Company policies and siloed team policies and procedures stymie actual effectiveness, and it seems like the leadership acts as your strict grade school teacher rather than having your back.
