Pros

There are so many great things about working at BambooHR that it's hard to know where to start. 1. Culture: We take great pains to ensure that we only hire people who fit the culture. We want to hire those who are hard-working, humble, have great personalities, and are willing to put in the work. 2. Work/Life Balance: This is so important because I've never had it anywhere else. Other company's I've worked for were always talking about it, but I never really got a sense of it or saw it in any way. At BambooHR, they are serious. It's not about trying to get out of paying someone overtime, it's about letting employees go home to be with their families without having work interfere. Leave work at work and go home. 3. Our Owners: I've never worked for a company where the owners actually care to learn the name of all their employees, let along try to interact with them all. At BambooHR our owners are the most accessable peoople. They are there if you want to bounce an idea off of them, or ask them a question about something. The know everyone's name and take care to know specific things about them. You are never just a number. I could go on and on about the amazing things that happen at BambooHR, but to wrap up I would say that they have truely ruined me for other companies because they are simply amazing in how they treat their employees.

Cons

We are still growing so figuring out processes and getting those implemented is sometimes a challenge, though not an unexpected one. At times, some of those who have been here the longest are resistant to change, but overall they all want what is best for the company. Our health plan could be better, but the one we have isn't horrible. I've definitely had worse.

Pros

At the end of my tenure, I really have no pros.

Cons

I'm pretty sure I was "quietly laid off", in the effort of sneaky downsizing without having to actually do formal layoffs. This place was a godsend and a great place to work on my small independent team, and I did great. Then they did massive restructuring, added layers of hierarchy, added process, and basically just starting running a creative team like a line of factory workers. I had a horrible time with my manager on so many different levels, and felt validation when others would reflect the same, but I reflect what everyone else says - narcissistic, micro managing leadership that I now understand play manipulation games. I was put on a performance improvement plan and finally quit due to burnout, stress, and the dissolution of a role and a team that I had from before. They constantly push for solutions and deliverables, but I never really saw anything I delivered actually get treated and implemented with respect. Company policies and siloed team policies and procedures stymie actual effectiveness, and it seems like the leadership acts as your strict grade school teacher rather than having your back.
