Pros
If you like anxiety you can wait all day to find out if you work or not, on-call shifts are a thing here.
Cons
Loved working for this company as a server and bartender previously, but they have taken advantage of their front of house staff and use our tips to pay everyone else’s wages. Servers are currently tipping out 13 % of overall sales when there is a group booking, and that money is used to pay people that work in sales and head office who have no contribution to the service that is given. The tip out is also about to increase again and there is no transparency where that is going. They claim to care about their staff and that they give benefits but will schedule you 2 days a week in slow season and then work you as much as they can when it’s on their terms. When you ask for benefits they will say that you don’t meet the minimum hour requirements because you don’t average enough hours. Managers are vastly underpaid and overworked which contributes to a toxic work environment. Avoid this company if you can, unfortunately they own most of the restaurants in Banff and use the monopoly to their advantage. If you want to feel undervalued and under appreciated this is an excellent place to work.
