Pros
I have worked with Bar-Z in a variety of positions and capacities over the years. It's a small company with a fast-paced work environment, and performance-oriented culture. The company creates mobile solutions for a variety of different industries - it's interesting to get to work with organizations ranging from state tourism departments to broadcasters. I love the diversity of work that I've gotten to do; no two days are the same. The mobile platform has steadily evolved based on industry trends, and continues to get better and better. I've had ample opportunities to craft new programs and processes, and learn a variety of new skills. There's a lot of job satisfaction in being given a project and getting see it through from ideation to implementation. Working in a small software company means lots of collaboration between departments and the ability to really "make a difference" in meeting the needs of clients and impacting the bottom line.
Cons
Some employees/departments have smaller offices, but much of the company works in an open air office environment which is more and more common these days. It's better than being cooped up in a cubicle, but I can find it challenging sometimes for concentration and productivity, but it does offer the advantages of quick communication/collaboration.
