Pros
Working from home was mainstream
Cons
I worked here as a Health, Safety and Environmental Consultant and left around a year ago. This review reflects my own personal experience. Going in, the company presented itself as professional and well established. In my experience, that impression did not match what I found after joining. There was a lot of management language and buzzwords, but I did not feel this was matched by meaningful investment in developing consultants. I joined with a NEBOSH qualification expecting to work alongside a team of experienced health and safety professionals, but that was not my personal experience. I was also surprised by the level of experience I observed in some management roles based on my own interactions. The office itself was quiet for much of the time, with many colleagues working remotely. While I appreciated the flexibility of working from home, I found there were fewer opportunities for face to face collaboration, mentoring and support than I had expected. In my experience, I did not feel particularly supported by management, and I did not feel there was a clear focus on helping consultants develop their careers. Pay was among the lowest I have received in this profession. Benefits were also limited, with statutory sick pay and a basic annual leave entitlement compared with other employers I have worked for. Overall, my experience was disappointing. The company made a strong impression externally, but I did not feel my day to day experience reflected that. Based on my own experience, I would not choose to work here again and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a health and safety consultancy role with strong professional development, mentoring and support.
