Pros
Worked with some great people (though most of them have now left or been fired).
Cons
Basecamp Strategy presents itself as a forward-thinking, progressive company. But in reality, it is not. Far from it. To echo the previous raters, this place is a mess. There was no real HR person. There were people with cutesy titles like "head of people" and "chief integrity officer," but you actually didn't know what they did. New employees were promised they would have a new job title in three months, but that's because staff turnover is crazy. As a person of color, I did not feel welcomed or included in the company culture. If you're not white, fresh out of college, and willing to kiss some butt, you are invisible. It was very clear that the CEO was unprofessional and arrogant, but no one had the courage to step up to him. The company morale was affected on more than one occasion because of this dynamic. There are a lot of hard-working people at Basecamp; they deserve better.
