Pros

Travel, learn how to organize and run events

Cons

start up mess (disorganized, lack of processes and tools, lack of proper training, lack of leadership, high turnover) without the start up benefits (stimulating environment, exciting products, stock, funding, perks, culture ). Strange office dynamics here, folks don't talk to each other much throughout the day, everyone looks miserable staring into their computers, strict 9-6 work hours (expect to text/email HR and your team should you be running 10 min late), no happy hours. Expect to be micromanaged at every corner, both by your managers and your peers, very demotivating. Event days are especially chaotic and disorganized. Employees talk down at each other disrespectfully. Once I got hired, it came to my attention that in the past employees left after their first day of training, I can see why. I can only wish I had left sooner. Overall frustrating experience was topped off by the way the company decided to part ways - by emailing me a termination letter with a lawyer cc'ed. Really?! Have the courage and respect to tell your employees in person. BeMyApp is a stepping stone for most folks here, so as long as you understand and accept the frustrations, you might be ok. But unless you are dying to be in the event industry or your rent is due tomorrow, I'd say look elsewhere. Good luck.

BeMyApp would respectfully like to clarify this misleading review by addressing the following: 1. With any newly established business, it is expected (and often required) to work together through the challenges and learning curves of executing best practices. We believe we have overcome many major hurdles (prior to this employee’s departure) and are currently on a continuous path of testing, creating and implementing protocol and tools. 2. BeMyApp is quickly becoming the leading developer relations agency of it’s kind that now reaches worldwide. With the busiest season we’ve ever had, and no sight of slowing down, exciting products and benefits within the company are considered on an opinion based bias. 3. If we were miserable, we wouldn’t work here. If you are hired to be at a job, any job, at a specific time, it is expected you do so. In the event you are running behind (unhabitual), a heads up is all we ask. 4. An event logistics coordinator’s main priority is to lead the organization of all logistical details regarding event’s planning and execution. This includes vendor and staff vetting and scheduling, cue sheet and set-up delegation and proper budget resolution. This employee quickly demonstrated behavior in which we could not trust those job requirements to be executed. With the responsibility of organizational productivity comes the rigor of attention to detail, ability to successfully troubleshoot in time sensitive situations, and professionally and precisely communicate with coworkers and hired help. Unfortunately, we did not get the opportunity to see these qualities in this individual. 5. This employee sadly had the nature for repetitive unprofessional and inappropriate verbal aggressiveness towards colleagues. The decision for a virtual termination was made in respect and best interest for the current employee’s protection and work flow. In closing, BeMyApp would like to apologize for this unfortunate public parting of ways. We’ve since adjusted our employee recruitment process to mind better attention to past career experience and proven success in similar fields.

Pros

- Autonomy, encouragement to become a specialist in a given area and a wide berth to pick your preferred tool or technique so long as you can collaborate - Great team, culture is vibrant, fun, and you never feel like you're without support - Unique work, if you want exposure to all 360 degrees of technical marketing, events, evangelism etc. this is a much friendlier place to do it than at a traditional/big firm - Impressive skill and experience building, exposure to new tech, high-prestige client, C-level leadership which is priceless experience - Compassionate management, felt more like managers were invested in me to develop my talent and contributions rather than invested in my projects to conform my work to their expectations (i.e. micromanaging or by-the-book instructions)

Cons

- Fast paced, if you're looking for an easy and super-predictable job there is less for you here as it rewards risk-takers and people willing to try new things. Clients can be great to work with and keep giving projects, or there may be a lot of different ones to acclimate to. - Small company, this may be a pro for some and con for others, but if you are looking for a corporate experience this will feel non-traditional

Pros

Great coworkers, friendly supervisors, some perks

Cons

no career path forward. It seemed European management has little idea of what's going on in US. Repurpose me to do work way outside of my job description
