Pros
You have the availability to work from home most days.
Pay was fair.
The actual work is enjoyable and meaningful.
They are making strides to make staff more diverse. But honesty still have a long way to go. Especially in management.
Cons
Perspective and opinion often invalidated.
Massive divide between management and hourly staff.
Bizarrely uneasy and stuffy atmosphere. I felt like I was constantly walking on eggshells and no one would explain why.
No room to grow as an employee, make mistakes, or grow/learn from other employees. Severe lack of communication from management.
During an official performance review, the fact I used a sick day was brought up for discussion and held against me. I literally used one sick day during my time at Beacon and it was frowned upon and scrutinized. It fairness it was during a busy time, but in a post Covid world I am not about to bring a virus into the office. My entire household (5 ppl) was home sick from a diagnosed respiratory virus. The fact this was somehow used against me was completely unfair and unreasonable. It was this disagreement that ultimately lead to ending my employment at Beacon.
