Pros
Very smart team of co-workers.
Friendly people - no "jerks" - even senior management is very accessible and is genuinely interested in hearin my ideas.
Great food/snacks in the lunch room
Relaxed high-tech environment, casual clothes, ability to work from home one day/week, flexible schedule allows me to avoid rush-hour traffic
Focused on results, NOT politics. This is refreshing and I can't say enough about what a breath of fresh air it is compared to my previous company.
In a very promising sector of the economy - online commerce
Pay is solid - not extravagant and not low, about right
Lots of opportunities to try new things
Good international exposure - since this company has offices in Europe and Asia. I get to work with a global team sometimes.
Good transparency from CEO and senior mgt with monthly all-hands updates that provide lots of detail
Good benefits: great health plan, paid gym membership/wellness reimbursement, subsidized lunch, etc.
My manager is smart, competent and actually cares about me, which is very valuable.
Evaluating some really interesting growth opportunities, so I believe I can be part of one of those teams.
Cons
Still relying too much on last year's CSE business model. But new management team is aware and clearly in the middle of a positive transition.
Wearing multiple hats can be a challenge
Mgt allows some people to get away with not working very hard - there's an uneven distribution of hard work, with some people/groups working really hard, and others seeming to coast (and play too much foosball for my taste)
