Pros
Some people, the pay (at the time) was good, benefits, training. Im grateful for the knowledge I've gained there in the field I work in.
Cons
Politics, favoritism, and at the end of an exhausting day you get reminded that you're just a number. A lot of people that make decisions and changes etc. have no idea what that changes and impacts for the branches. They don't know how the programs work they just come in with an idea. Which would be funny if I didn't work there. A lot of corporate employees are nice to your face only. During covid the company basically had the idea of "we don't know how long this is going to last and what this will do to us financially so we're just going to start firing people just in case". I was given the option to either take a very severe demotion to make about a third of my salary or I can quit. My coworker who took 3 hour lunch breaks, talked on the phone with his wife 2 hours a day, and browsed ESPN after doing his one 30 minute meeting in the day got to stay at his position. How? I have dozens of these examples. Or the manager that broke up the marriage of one of her employees in the corporate parking lot. That's a good one too. Is that what you mean by the company being like a family?
