Cons

Worked at BetMGM for 5 years, and while I had high hopes upon joining, my experience was ultimately disappointing due to persistent organizational issues and a lack of strategic vision from leadership. One of the most troubling patterns I witnessed was the company’s tendency to lay off employees with little notice or transparency, only to repost the same roles a few months later. This cycle creates a toxic atmosphere where employees feel disposable rather than valued. There was no meaningful effort to retain talent or communicate why these decisions were being made. The company struggles with alignment and focus. Strategic priorities shift frequently, and teams are left scrambling to adjust to new directives with minimal support or explanation. Leadership appears disconnected from day-to-day operations, and there’s a noticeable lack of accountability at the top. Initiatives are launched with great enthusiasm, but follow-through is rare. As a result, much of the work feels chaotic and rushed, with little chance for sustainable impact. Processes are either outdated or nonexistent, and there’s little interest in investing in tools or systems that could improve workflow or clarity. I saw talented colleagues come and go at a rapid pace. Burnout is common due to unrealistic expectations and a lack of clarity around roles and responsibilities. Feedback is often ignored, and upward mobility is more about being in the right clique than based on merit. The company talks about growth and innovation, the reality is a high-turnover environment driven by poor planning and a revolving door of employees. I would strongly caution anyone considering a role here to ask direct questions about turnover, long-term strategy, and what concrete steps are being taken to improve culture and stability.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and for your five years of service at BetMGM. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your experience fell short of your expectations. Your insights reflect challenges we take seriously — particularly around transparency, communication, and the impact of organizational change. As our company grows and adapts in a fast-moving industry, we recognize that the pace and complexity of that growth can sometimes leave our teams feeling disconnected or unsupported. That’s not the experience we want for our employees. We are actively working to improve how we communicate strategic direction, invest in clearer processes, and support our teams through change with greater consistency and care. We value feedback like yours because it helps us learn and improve. Thank you again for the contributions you made during your time with us. We wish you the very best in what comes next.

Pros

One of the biggest advantages of working at BetMGM was the unlimited PTO policy, which provided flexibility and supported a healthy work-life balance. The benefits package was competitive and included solid healthcare and retirement options. The company also offered employees the opportunity to gain experience in a rapidly growing industry and collaborate with teams across marketing, product, analytics, and operations.

Cons

While I gained valuable experience managing VIP customers and working cross-functionally with various departments, there were several challenges that impacted my overall experience. Leadership often appeared disconnected from the day-to-day realities and challenges faced by frontline employees. Opportunities for advancement did not always feel transparent, and promotions sometimes appeared to be influenced more by personal relationships than by performance and results. Career growth opportunities were limited, and internal promotions frequently came with compensation increases that did not reflect the additional responsibilities. Management support varied significantly across teams. In my experience, communication, coaching, and employee development could have been stronger. Employees were often expected to navigate complex situations independently without receiving sufficient guidance or support. Additionally, there appeared to be a lack of diversity within leadership positions, which limited representation and different perspectives at the management level. Overall, BetMGM can be a good place to gain experience in the gaming industry, but there is room for improvement in leadership transparency, employee development, career progression, and compensation.
