Pros
The students are amazing, they make the job worth it. They are some great staff members that make you feel welcome.
Cons
A lot of miscommunication between staff members and leadership. At first, they bring you in with high expectations of the culture but in reality if you’re not a family member or friend you’ll feel like an outcast. The leadership tends to put a lot of pressure on their staff but doesn’t communicate effectively on events, issues, and any important information that a staff member should know in order to do their job. They don’t provide appropriate training, you’re practically thrown into the job. They also tend to make you do multiple jobs even if they’re not in your title. The pay is very minimum for the amount of work they make you do. Additionally, you’re not allowed to speak Spanish around non-Spanish speakers. The leadership is very conservative. Career opportunities are low unless someone in the administration likes you. Overall, I had very high hopes for Beta but it is by far one of the worst places I’ve worked for.
