Pros
As everyone says, the people who work here are incredibly talented. Somehow they have the ability to wrangle very talented people (probably the facade of the mission) and those people have made this company what it is, though they will never get credit for that from the CEO/COO who think their complete lack of experience is somehow what has built the company ( it isn't). Be warned that anyone with experience and self-respect usually leaves. Its undergone a MAJOR loss of talent in the last year or so due to the wheels falling off as they try (and fail) to scale without the help of most of the talent that got them marginal success. Also, the waffles.
Cons
It's hard to understand how this company has gotten away with not yet being outed for what it really is inside ( maybe bc most people still think its a yoga studio), but it's a ticking time bomb. Beyond Yoga was founded by two women, this is true, but what isn't widely plastered on all their marketing materials is that it is actually run by the "COO" or husband of the CEO. Is running a company probably a trainwreck on the best of relationships? Yes. In this case its far worse. The nature of their relationship reaches "beyond" what should be tolerated in ANY professional setting and is common knowledge among the staff who deal with its complexity daily. It is sometimes glaring ( let's just say mansplaining the most basic concept is the least of your worries but ask any seasoned employee about some of the antics they have experienced in the old office) and sometimes subliminal like having to check in with him to make decisions he should have no part in (because he has NO experience in fashion at all much less that of a COO or marker/ creative direction/ whatever he decides he is an expert in that day). What is really distressing about this is that some of the smartest women in their fields have to make decisions based on this man's whims, random ideas, or god forbid the podcast he listened to the night before ( actually referenced in meetings as a valid form of making decisions for the business over peoples experience). No one is allowed to question his actual experience, or why his massive miscalculations that impact the business go un-noticed or admitted even when they are glaring. Yes, this female-founded " empowering" company forces the women who run it to kneel to one man with no experience and petulance for forcing his inexperience down everyone's throat. There are many, many other issues with this company... like the fact that their social media represents one thing but what is reality is totally different ( prob going to get caught) and the only thing keeping them even remotely relevant is their younger talent who they purge every few years by not giving them a competitive salary. basically, it's all a ruse for what is really happening on the inside, especially when it comes to their " diversity" and " inclusivity" which means nothing because all WOC who have power there have left due to major gaslighting or worse. To sum it up, you have a company that pretends to be female empowered being run by a man with no experience in fashion and who holds talented people hostage at his whims and a CEO who enables the charades because they are in too deep and she is co-dependant on not outing him. It's a trash fire going down a hill at breakneck speed with a narcissist steering marketing itself as an ashram of inclusivity and girl power. Not to mention the abhorrent cost of their healthcare which is apparently because " women" work there and have babies???
