Pros

A Masterclass in Low-Class Verbal Abuse: If you ever wanted to hear how many vile profanities can be targeted at your own parents, the divisional manager provides a daily, unedited tutorial. It’s a great place to learn exactly how low corporate leadership can stoop when they hurl slangs at your family's name. Relentless "Resilience" Training: The toxic, non-stop psychological pressure ensures you will develop a permanent state of alertness. You don't need coffee when you have managers screaming at you and breathing down your neck every single hour. The Ultimate Family Extension Program: Management believes in bringing your family into the business—not by supporting them, but by forcing you to target your own father's hard-earned money to hit their unrealistic quotas, all while disrespecting your parents behind your back. Advanced Course in Psychological Warfare: Between the constant manipulation of policy terms for customers and the casual threats of fake police cases against employees, you will get a front-row seat to how a corporate office operates like a playground for local bullies. Total Elimination of Professional Boundaries: You will never have to worry about a boring 9-to-5 desk job. Instead, your days will be packed with navigating the messy extramarital dramas of higher-ups, running personal odd jobs for them, and surviving vicious internal politics.

Cons

My time working at the Kolkata branch of Bharti AXA Life Insurance has been the most traumatic professional experience of my life. The work environment here is not just toxic; it is completely dysfunctional and deeply unethical, driven from the top down by the Divisional Manager and other senior management. Instead of professional guidance, employees are subjected to a constant barrage of verbal abuse. Senior managers regularly use severe profanity and derogatory language to demean staff. This creates an atmosphere of extreme, daily psychological pressure that makes it impossible to work effectively. Beyond the horrific treatment of employees, the business practices I witnessed are highly questionable and manipulative. There is immense pressure to meet targets by any means necessary, which includes pushing employees to coerce their own family members (such as demanding I use my father's money) to buy policies. Furthermore, I have witnessed managers using severe intimidation tactics, including threats of fake police cases, to enforce compliance and silence dissent. The internal culture is consumed by office politics, inappropriate personal conduct among higher management, and a complete disregard for HR policies or basic human decency. Employees are also frequently forced to perform personal or "odd jobs" that have nothing to do with their actual roles. Most concerning is the blatant manipulation of customers regarding insurance policies. The focus is entirely on closing deals, regardless of whether the policy actually benefits the client, which is a massive breach of trust. I strongly advise anyone considering employment here to look elsewhere. You will not find career growth or professional development; you will only find harassment, coercion, and a culture that actively encourages unethical behavior.
