Pros
Slightly above average salary, health benefits, free access to the Estate, uniform reimbursement for management.
Cons
Everyone worked only as hard as they felt they needed to to avoid being reprimanded by their boss. The food is designed to appeal to a wide range of day trippers and aging tourists, which is to say that it is not the place to cook if you want to make or learn to make high quality fine dining food. The Estate spends a lot of time and money to give the impression of refinement and class to the grounds and the staff, but at the end of the day the food and wine is nothing special. Upper management is paid well and therefore they work hard to keep things running smoothly and cash flowing. Unfortunately, that makes for a rather bland, you-scratch-my-back sort of culture amongst the staff members. It was not the right atmosphere for me. If you can tolerate it and look past some of the silliness you may enjoy your time there.
