Pros

I wasted 2 years of my life here, my other work colleagues where great and supportive but Bioquell always talked like Waitrose but delivered Netto. The salary was OK but holidays starting at 20 per days year which is poor and the rewards below average. For a company that was sold to me as family run it was more like having a bad divorce every week. We lost also contracts due to the pure arrogance and stupidity of management and not the so called lazy staff.

Cons

The pure arrogance of the management, every one was defined as slack if they dared to discuss issues other than work,Ideas were sapped by the Bioquell public school boy Mafia. If you loved the eighty's then this is the place to work similar pay and loved Maggie Thatcher approach to people. Promotion was very much really dependent on the turn round of staff which was faster than Usain Bolt, and most avoided taking the jump due to the dreadful way they where treated. We used have a meeting every week that defined the next week tasking which in most cases just became a disaster of lies and blame. It now reminds me of the way that Starlin used to operate - getting rid of people who had the ability and strength to speak for themselves. Every time the shares drop so do the staff. Redundancies, and theses are conducted in a ruthless manner with out support even for the veteran MDH staff.

Pros

Travelling was enjoyable, and the techs all generally enjoyed a great camaraderie.

Cons

1. Expected to front the funds for your meals, gas/tolls while traveling, and if you were lucky they paid you back at the end of the month on time. These are people traveling ~75% and making under $45K. 2. Turnover was high. Work was hard and compensation small. 3. Major layoffs occurred this year. People that weren't laid off generally jumped ship. 4. ZERO support from headquarters in the UK. Lead time on spare parts, if you could ever get them, was at least a month. The technology is over a decade behind that of competitors. 5. Expected to be in the office if you weren't on the road. "on the road" usually consisted of 60-70 hour work weeks starting with 6AM monday flights, but they made us come in 8-5 regardless if we were not travelling. 6. Logistics department had zero understanding of what it was like to travel. They would cheap out and give you a 2 star fleabag hotel instead of a decent one over a $10.00/night difference. A nonstop flight was unheard of - their bottom line was more important than letting staff enjoy time with their families. 3 layovers was not out of the ordinary. 7. Financial controller at the time was rude, arrogant, and nasty.
