Pros

Access to local events / nice office space

Cons

I honestly don’t even know where to begin with this company. First off, the pay is insulting. Far below industry average, especially for the amount of hours worked. It's clear they expect you to do the work of 3 people but won’t pay you a dime more. There’s no room for growth or advancement. The managers here are downright catty. They’ll talk about employees behind their backs and create a culture of fear and mistrust. It’s a constant competition of who can one-up the other, with no real concern for team dynamics or personal growth. You’re left to fend for yourself while they sit in their little gossip circles, making you feel isolated and unimportant. If you're someone who thrives on positivity, you won’t find that here. Instead, you'll be pushed into your own little corner, trying to stay out of the crossfire and avoid being the next target of criticism or gossip. It’s draining. They don’t care about your well-being, just about making themselves look good. If you want to work in an environment where you’re underappreciated and constantly feel like you’re walking on eggshells, this is the place for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and steer clear. This place is a toxic nightmare.

We are genuinely surprised and disheartened to read this review, and we question whether it reflects a real experience at our company. If it does, we would truly appreciate the opportunity to sit down privately and understand exactly what occurred. We do not—and will never—tolerate toxicity, gossip, or mistreatment in our workplace. At Birch, we are deeply committed to fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, kindness, transparency, and professional growth. Our leadership takes pride in creating a positive, team-driven environment and in recognizing the hard work and dedication of our staff. We celebrate achievements, promote from within, and maintain strong relationships with many former team members who continue to work with us on a freelance or project basis. When it comes to compensation, we strive to offer competitive salaries and benefits that fairly reflect the skills, dedication, and contributions of our team.. We are also transparent about the nature of the work—this is a fast-paced industry that requires passion, commitment, and flexibility, but for the right person, it’s incredibly rewarding. Any potential candidate is welcome to come in and speak with any and every team member and ask about culture, work environment, team camaraderie, work hours and demands, etc. We take all feedback seriously, even anonymous reviews, but when a comment contradicts our core values and daily practices, we feel it’s important to speak up. If the author of this review is willing, we would welcome the chance to have a direct and respectful conversation. We are always open to listening and growing.

Pros

Birch Event Design is such a special place to work if you love creativity and being part of really beautiful, high-level events. You get hands-on experience with incredible projects and are trusted with real responsibility, which makes the work exciting and meaningful. The team is collaborative, supportive, and very passionate about what they do, which makes long event days feel rewarding and fun. It’s fast-paced, but in the best way, and you learn so much in a short amount of time. Truly an amazing environment for anyone who loves events and wants to grow in the industry.

Pros

Great team + collaborator who will work themselves to the bone for the end product.

Cons

No work/life balance at all, pulling teeth to get profit sharing paid out, shady practices, management won't take any critiques despite revolving door of staff and fast burnout. Everyone consistently works 60+ hours/week and is expected to wear it like a badge of honor. Very expensive medical plans only and they work with unsavory characters (Mar-A-Lago, Trump, extremely pro-Israel clients)
