The team had smart engineers who cared about shipping and solving hard problems, and I was given a lot of ownership early on. There were plenty of opportunities to improve systems, refactor legacy areas, and work across product + engineering to deliver features end-to-end. The pace could be intense and priorities sometimes shifted quickly, which made it hard to plan work or feel confident something wouldn’t get changed mid-stream. Processes were inconsistent depending on the team/project, and sometimes requirements weren’t fully defined before work started. That could lead to rework and extra pressure during delivery. Communication and long-term roadmap clarity could be improved.
