Pros

Governer's Island location was not too bad if lucky enough to be stationed there. Working outside was nice. Sometimes worked 4 days on and 3 days off, which was great.

Cons

Worked in Manhattan locations so with bosses a lot. Narcissistic management. No trust for employees. Watched by multiple cameras in Manhattan locations at all times. If bosses not present they would watch us on an app conected to the cameras and ring if displeased. (Were displeased by the most bizarre and inconsequencial things ie. everything) Ridiculously strict. Not allowed to chat to fellow employees at all even when no customers present. Not allowed to stand still for a moment. Made to do 'busy work' all day. Wiping down stand over and over when already clean, organizing helmets when already organized etc all day. (Shifts generally 10 hours on feet all day). Would be trained to do something in a particular way by one boss and then scolded by another for doing it wrong. If another bike company were handing out leaflets nearby we were made to 'intercept' and tell the tourists to come to our bike shop instead in a very pushy way. (Would be watched to make sure we were doing this) Incredibly awkward for all involved and would anger both the rival company's employees and tourists alike. Explitives would be thrown not by rival employees but the tourists just trying to get a quote from other companies. Mentally and emotionally exhausting. Felt on edge all day waiting for bosses to be angered by the smallest of things. Bosses on an absolute power trip. The job is physically demanding but this is not a problem at all if you are ready for hard work. Could write a thesis on all the negative anecdotes I have. You will not find one fellow employee who enjoys working with bosses. You will find out quickly that for them, it is money and profit above ALL else. The sad part is that this job could be enjoyable if managed correctly.

Pros

The people and the staff

Cons

The people and the staff. Too many cooks in the kitchen. The Dutch are the worst!
