Pros
Positive office environment. My branch manager was wonderful, but spread thin managing 2 branches at once.
Cons
Too many responsibilities for the pay. At this office you're are expected to manage the fuel dock outside the store (refilling propane cylinders) and the retail sales floor, and the front office responsibilities, including every single phone call. In the summer, it's not so bad, but in the winter there are simply not enough hours in the day. I often sacrificed good a customer service experience because I was too busy. Some responsibilities fall to the wayside completely. They have no fill ins in most places for this role, so if someone is out of office you can expect to spend the day on the phone taking their calls in additionto yours. There is no standard operating procedure between branches for setting fuel deliveries or service appointments, and if you do it the way you're taught, you can expect to hear that you didn't do it right when the person returns to the office. Senior management is clueless about the day to day operations on the ground and the policies and procedures they are constantly changing makes that very evident. They were increasingly redundant and asinine during my time with this company. The training you are provided is not comprehensive, and the person training you treats questions like a nuisance. The executive board and management team is exclusively middle age or older white men. Not really much opportunity for advancement for anyone else, it seems.
